KEEPING SENIORS IN THE NT

The NT Government wants to keep seniors in the NT. To help, it has changed and confused the schemes available to seniors. The previous government started it all in 2014, but the present government, after major consultations, has done nothing other than to dilute and reduce the scheme.

That minimisation applies to all who became eligible for entry to the scheme after June 2014. For many seniors this now (post June 2014) program offers only $500 per year as an ‘incentive’ to stay in this high cost place.

NOT THE BEST OR WISEST SCHEME IN THE WORLD.

Not a scheme likely to counter to government’s call for old ones to stay put, keen our flagging population in the NT – in order tp prevent a further GST loss because of declining population.
