PARLIAMENTARY STAFFERS – EXPERIENCE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT

Reading “The Weekend Australian” of February 27-28 Inside Story “Party said enough was enough … and then did nothing” was revealing. It seems to me after several readings of this column that far too many parliamentary staffers are far too young and immature for the job they should be doing. Frequent partying, excessive use of alcohol and other social carrying on seem to be their number one priority in life. Too many of them seem to be jumped up up-starts with a lot of growing up to do.

They may have tertiary qualifications but degrees are not matched by mature, sensible, respectful behaviour.

And they are ‘advisers’ to our politicans! God help us all.
